The Ever-Famous Unannounced Tablet
I’m sure that one way or another the word about the Mac Tablet has been going around. What from digital mock-ups to people hacking together things to resemble it. The best part is that this device, which hasn’t really received any official press or hinting, has been declared DELAYED.

Such a wonderful little device has received so much press that it might as well be a day away. Yet its been effectively delayed until late 2010. And the best part is that people are speculating on prices and all sorts of other things. But if they weren’t what kind of country would this be, hype is always more than half the fun.
The reasoning is twofold on the devices timing, so there is reason to the rhyme. Firstly, they seem to want to ship a device with an optional OLED* and apparent size change. This is due to the current price of a screen in the range they are looking. A 9.7-inch OLED screen at this point in time would cost $500 US (just to be clear). Placing this at 30% of the total cost and tacking on Apples healthy profit margin means this thing could cost as much as $2,000. That price scares me a bit.

Luckily this speculation also involves a larger LCD screen (10.6 in) that somehow wheedles the price down to a more manageable price of $1,000. The best part of that number is things work their way down the price point when they get bundled with a service contract (like the iPhone).
Of course, this bad boy doesn’t even “exist” yet but I can’t wait to see the commercials. Let’s all hope it doesn’t end up like this (above)
