The best thing on television, since television
I’m going to write this article assuming that all who are about to read it have minimal knowledge of the 45 years of Doctor Who.
I will at this point avoid at all cost the near obligatory “Doctor Who?” and instead skip to the chase. Doctor who is probably the most incredible show you will ever have the opportunity to watch if you are able to appreciate it in all its glory. The premise is somewhat simple: Time traveling alien, who looks human and happens to be able to regenerate, travels through time with his TARDIS (more explanation later) and saves worlds from complete catastrophe.
The 10th Doctor:

And now in production is the 11th Doctor Who with this dude:

Personally I think this new Doctor may be taking the story to a new level on par with twilight, what with the sparkles and the eccentric hair. However, given Doctor Who’s history I’m sure it will just be another incarnation in the nearly infallible series.
Anywho, series operates under the assumption that there has been a huge time-war involving the race known as the time-lords (same as the Doctor) and the Daleks (pictured below: once a trash can with a plunger and an egg beater mounted on it). This war has caused the Doctor to be the only apparent survivor although through his 45 years worth of escapades he runs into some old enemies.

Probably the last thing I should say about the one series on television which rules them all is how this wonderfully scientific cheese is allowed to exist. The TARDIS is an acronym for Time and Relative Dimension In Space which allows the Doctor to travel through time and space in a police call box.
That’s really all I can say except for recommending that you watch Doctor Who, there’s plenty of episodes to choose from but I would recommend something from 2005 with Christopher Eccleston.
