Boxee Box (no I’m not repeating myself)
I’m sure some of you have heard of Boxee and at first I loved the idea. Wouldn’t it be great if everything having to do with video and such things threaded through to your TV without having to go through the ruckus of hacking something together. I mean, sure it works, until Hulu comes out with a new update which throws all your hardy work for a loop…again.
But, anyhow a little thing known as Boxee has been working on things for a while now and just recently released a slew of alpha tests for Windows, Mac, and Linux while at the same time hinting at something resembling this wonderful beast.

You might be saying “Oooh, a mock-up” but isn’t it nice to dream. Sure Boxee hasn’t even said who they are actually partnered with, seeing as how they can’t, but that’s what sneak peaks are for.
For those of you who just saw the pretty picture and are now interested, Boxee has the ability to stream video from the web, pictures, and music plus Boxee can store music, pictures, and video offline. It’s a fair bit like Xbox Media Center, but with social interaction built in along with recommendations from people you know.
I’m going to make another post when more info is released on the December 11th further detailing what’s in the works.
