Wired has the right idea
http://www.wired.com/autopia/2010/02/take-that-chevy-volt-cal-poly-car-gets-27523-mpg/
That’s a link to a wired article about a Cal Poly Supermileage car for the dedicated purpose of winning the shell eco-marathon. The idea is tried and true, e.g. take a really light car, give it a small & light engine, make it essentially float along and it should go for miles.
Of course 2,752 miles...

The Ever-Famous Unannounced Tablet
I’m sure that one way or another the word about the Mac Tablet has been going around. What from digital mock-ups to people hacking together things to resemble it. The best part is that this device, which hasn’t really received any official press or hinting, has been declared DELAYED.
Such a wonderful little device has received so much press that it might as well be a day away....

Tatt-2.0
I’m sure everyone has heard the argument “don’t get a tattoo, you’ll regret it when you’re older.” I know this argument has failed to convince a whole host of people but some people have been swayed by this line of thought. Not to worry, Phillips has your back, almost literally. At the very least they may be using you as a walking billboard.
Now that...

Goofy Gadget the Sarah Palin 'Wink Drive'
Yes, just as Al Gore invented the internet, Sarah Palin has now come out with the works smallest 16GB flash drive. And here’s the best part, she doesn’t know it.
Apparently, Sarah Palin has not officially supported this message but Wink is just giving her the credit ahead of time. Hopefully McCain isn’t checking her email for her otherwise she might never find out.
I just...

I love when the light bulb goes on... and no one...
I will say this is a step above the snuggie because there’s nothing else that does what it does. However, someone still should have turned off this lightbulb when it sprung up over this inventors head (or immediately placed a tinfoil helmet on the guilty party). But whats done is done so instead they can just put this on their head instead and hope it manages to cease all non-essential...

Be the Light of the Party
Every woman I know has an over-arching fear which they share with every other woman on the planet, namely “wearing the same dress as another woman” syndrome.
Fear no more, fair citizens of earth for the answer has been found.
This dress is made of silk, tons of careful stitches, and you guessed it 24,000 LEDs. That is, disregarding the ipod batteries(inconspicuously sewn in) which...

The best thing on television, since television
I’m going to write this article assuming that all who are about to read it have minimal knowledge of the 45 years of Doctor Who.
I will at this point avoid at all cost the near obligatory “Doctor Who?” and instead skip to the chase. Doctor who is probably the most incredible show you will ever have the opportunity to watch if you are able to appreciate it in all its glory. The...

Boxee Box (no I'm not repeating myself)
I’m sure some of you have heard of Boxee and at first I loved the idea. Wouldn’t it be great if everything having to do with video and such things threaded through to your TV without having to go through the ruckus of hacking something together. I mean, sure it works, until Hulu comes out with a new update which throws all your hardy work for a loop…again.
But, anyhow a little...

Big Brother is Good for Something
Given that this is the internet you’ve probably already checked your facebook in the last 20 seconds and have made a status update rather recently. The interesting thing is you probably didn’t realize this could get you out of prison under the right conditions (or the wrong ones).
A facebook post rather recently got a kid out of some trouble and all I can think is that if he...

My Very Earnest Mother Just Served Us Nine (Dwarf)...
Oh yeah, and if you want to keep Pluto then you need to throw in Ceres and Eris which turned from big chunks o’ rock to dwarf planets, but that just screws with the mnemonic(I think Makemake and Haumea might be in there too). Can you imagine that?
M V E M C J S U N P H M E (try learning that in third grade)
If someone can come up with something to fit that, then more power too you.
Pluto...
Enrico Fermi makes another appearance
If you’ve ever heard the name Enrico Fermi and know a little bit about him I applaud you. If you don’t, and I didn’t blame you, then allow me to begin to fill in the blanks.
Enrico Fermi was an Italian physicist who liked to play around with radiation. He ended up dying of stomach cancer when he was 53. You can’t really blame the guy because he worked without a suit...

Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Terminator?
I would like to make clear that this is not seriously some conspiracy theory post.
Now personally, I’m a little more scared of the one on the right, probably because the one of the left runs a state and hasn’t been called to the future on business yet. But this only touches the tip of the Iceberg of what I wanted to talk about today which is singularity. For those that don’t...

Does Parkour = Death Wish or Awesome?
Recently I’ve been looking into martial arts and yoga and pretty much anything I can do to take myself to the next level. Past discussions aside, which I may at some point come back to, I found Parkour.
I’m sure that plenty of people have seen the chase scene in Casino Royale (you remember the one where Bond crashes through the construction site chasing after a dude that might as...
Something Everyone Needs, Obviously
As though having a Iphone these days wasn’t enough of a status symbol, the “company” (and I now use that term very loosely) Gadget4All has decided to dress it up a bit. They thought it would be a good idea to make a chocolate case for your once sleek piece of apple merchandise.
Forget all the rounded edges, chrome detailing and futuristic vibe of the whole thing. ...
